How to get performing
Installing Performous is very easy using the prebuilt packages. Just click the package and have it installed.
Song downloads can be found on the separate songs page.
Windows
- WinXP or better: installer
Mac OS X
- OS X 10.5: bundle
Linux
- Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala: i386 amd64
- Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Hardy Heron: i386 amd64
- Debian: performous in official repositories
- OpenSUSE: packages
- ArchLinux: packages
- Mandriva 2010.0: i586 x86_64
If you get an error about unsatisfied dependencies on Ubuntu, you may have to enable the community-supported software source universe via System | Administration | Software Sources. Most users already have this enabled.
Other systems and development version

Troubleshooting
If you have previously installed from source, be sure to erase any files left over from that or otherwise Performous may use wrong files. Clear the following files/folders:
- /usr/local/bin/performous
- /usr/local/lib/libda
- /usr/local/share/games/performous
Performous installs other files as well, but those won't interfere with the game. See install_manifest.txt in your build folder for a full list of files installed.
